Brett Deledio was selected by Richmond with the first selection in the 2004 National Draft and had an outstanding debut season which culminated in receiving the NAB Rising Star award and being selected to play for Australia in the 2005 International Rules series against Ireland.
Brett has now established himself as an elite player in the AFL competition with back to back Richmond best and fairest awards in 2008 & 2009 and a third place finish in 2010. He was Richmond’s highest poling player in the 2010 Brownlow Medal and has been a large part of the marketing of the Richmond Football Club in recent years.
Now with over 100 games experience and an established member of the Richmond leadership group Brett has been touted as a future captain and a key component in helping Richmond establish themselves as a genuine finals contender.
Brett had an excellent 2011 season playing his 150th game, being part of the All Australian squad of 40 and setting a career high of 563 disposals.
